We want to be upfront about the status of Lake Lure. In October of 2024, Hurricane Helene left an unprecedented amount of debris, and while cleanup efforts are underway with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the lake has remained closed and will continue to be closed for the rest of 2025. However, we're pleased to share that the town of Lake Lure has announced its official target date to fully reopen the lake for the 2026 summer season: May 1, 2026. While this timeline isn't guaranteed, we remain optimistic that this goal will be achieved through ongoing restoration efforts. In the meantime, the magic of Lake Lure extends far beyond the water—breathtaking mountain views, charming local restaurants, award-winning vineyards, scenic hiking trails, championship golf courses at Rumbling Bald, and the world-class Tryon Equestrian Center just 25 minutes away are all ready to welcome you. Mountain View Retreat in Lake Lure is truly an amazing property! With HUGE mountain views and so close to the Lake Lure Marina and Chimney Rock. This home, built in 2017 features an open concept with direct views of the exposed granite face that most people only see from a distance. The main level includes, the fully equipped kitchen with beautiful granite countertops and downdraft venting for gas cooktop. The great room is open with a stone surround that extends to the top of the vaulted ceilings, but the fireplace is currently not operational. The outdoor living space (partially covered) with composite decking is the perfect spot to take in the mountain air and the views. With 3 bedrooms, another sleeping space and 3 bathrooms, you have plenty of space for the whole group, even your 4 legged friends. The lower level features a second full kitchen and laundry and this level also walks out to another deck for enjoying the great mountain views and a hot tub! Pets: This home and property are very dog friendly, and guests are welcome to bring their "best friends" with them. There is a non-refundable Pet Fee of $130 with a limit of 2 dogs per booking party.
